Drain Cleaning and Unblocking in London
Most plumbers who offer drainage do not own their own equipment. They hire a jetting rig for the day, or they subcontract the job to a drainage specialist and add a margin on top. You wait longer. You pay more. FlowGuard owns all its drainage equipment. Jetting rigs, drain rods, CCTV cameras.
Our engineers bring the kit on every call. That means we can clear a blocked drain on the first visit, whether it's a kitchen sink backing up or an external manhole that has flooded the patio. Same-day service, no third-party delays.

- Blocked Drains: Internal and external. Kitchen grease, bathroom hair and soap, tree roots in the garden line. We clear blockages caused by all the usual culprits. If the blockage is deep or recurrent, we use CCTV to find out why it keeps happening rather than just clearing it again.
- High-Pressure Jetting: For blockages that drain rods won't shift. Our jetting equipment strips fat, scale, and root ingress from the inside of the pipe. Particularly effective on older London properties where decades of build-up have narrowed the bore.
- Drain Rodding: The fastest fix for straightforward blockages. Manual and powered rodding clears most kitchen and bathroom drain problems within the first hour. No heavy equipment needed for a simple clog.
- Manhole Clearance and Repairs: Blocked manholes cleared, damaged covers replaced, and debris removed. If your manhole is backing up into the garden or driveway, we clear the obstruction and check downstream for anything that might cause a repeat.
- Gully Clearance: External gullies clog with leaves, grit, and mud. When they block, rainwater pools against the property. We clear and flush gullies as part of a drainage visit, or as a standalone job for properties with recurring surface water issues.
- Descaling: If your drains are slow but not blocked, the problem is often limescale and mineral build-up narrowing the pipe from the inside. Descaling restores the original bore diameter without replacing the pipe. Common in hard water areas across London.
CCTV Drain Surveys
Sometimes clearing the blockage is not enough. If a drain keeps blocking, there is usually a reason. A cracked pipe letting soil in. Tree roots growing through a joint. A collapsed section that traps waste every time.
We run CCTV surveys to find the cause. The camera shows us exactly what's happening inside the pipe, and we give you a written report with images and recommendations. If the problem needs a repair, we can usually start the same day rather than booking a second visit. Full standalone survey services are available on our Surveys page.
